Customer Services and Sales Assistant

25 hours per week, £12.50 per hour contract with flexibility in hours worked to balance Sofa and successful applicants needs.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic person to join our team at Sofa. Sofa is a small registered charity based in Loughborough which receives donations of all types of household goods suitable for reuse. These goods are then sold at discount to individuals and families who have been referred to us or to the public to provide funds to operate the charity. Our work is supported by volunteers of all ages who may be simply giving their time or acquiring life skills. Every year we divert a significant amount of material into reuse and from landfill thereby helping the environment. The nature of our operation will bring a lot of variety to your day.

This Customer Services and Sales Assistant post will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service at Sofa.

Your main responsibilities:

• Acknowledge customers with a smile

• Respond to donors effectively

• Attentive to customer needs

• Always be courteous, cheerful and respectful

• Be aware of stock availability

• Offer support to volunteers

• Ensure till accuracy

• Perform stock replenishment and delivery

• Ownership of personal presentation and punctuality

About You

• Good customer service and sales abilities

• Great communication skills

• Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others

• Be flexible and adaptable in line with the needs of the charity

• The ability to prioritise tasks

• A strong team player, harnessing the power of the team whilst being an integral part of promoting team spirit.
